NATIONAL PANCREATIC CANCER MONTH – WAGE HOPE THIS NOVEMBER

Pancreatic cancer is deadly:

  • It’s the fourth-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States
  • The five-year survival rate is only seven percent
  • It will kill 72 percent of those diagnosed within a year of their diagnosis

It’s time to act. ALT urges you to join us in supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. The organization’s goal is to double the survival rate by 2020 through its strategy of raising funds for research, engaging in government and community outreach, and providing services and support for families and individuals living with the disease.

There are number of ways you can help:

Take part in a Purple Stride walk/run fundraiser. Find an event near you >

Reach out to your members of congress and urge them to support pancreatic cancer research. Find out how at WageHope.org >

Join the movement and wear purple on November 13, 2015, World Pancreatic Cancer Day. You can also use the #WPCD hashtag on social media to raise awareness.

This November, we’ll be publishing on our website a series of articles focusing on pancreatic cancer and the people and organizations that are working toward a cure.

Learn about the $600,000 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor cell line challenge in the first article of the series.

In our next article, ALT Senior VP of Business Development, Anggie Becorest, will tell her story as a nineteen-year pancreatic cancer survivor.
