The Agilent G1103B Cary 8454 UV-Vis Spectrophotometer measures a full spectrum, in as little as 0.1 seconds. Featuring high throughput and low photometric noise, the unit provides excellent wavelength accuracy, reproducibility and photometric stability. By monitoring the entire range, important data is retained for a more accurate analysis. The optical system of the spectrophotometer is a dual lamp set up consisting of a deuterium-discharge lamp for the ultraviolet (UV) wavelength range, and a tungsten lamp for the visible and short wave near-infrared (SWNIR) wavelength range, from 190 to 1100nm.
The two lamps combine through a common axis to the source lens to form a single collimated beam of light. The beam passes through the shutter/stray-light correction filter area then through the sample to the spectrograph lens and slit and allows simultaneous access to all wavelength information. Results can be interpreted accurately at different wavelengths providing meaningful insight into the reaction mechanism.
