The optical system of the National Optical & Scientific Instruments DC3-163 Digital Microscope consists of binocular widefield 10x eyepieces with a revolving pointer. Inclined at a 30° angle, the eyepieces also feature diopter and interpupillary adjustment, 3-position sliding rods for directing light, and 4 DIN standard oil immersion objectives. Objectives include 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR lenses, resulting in 40x, 100x, 400x, and 1000x magnification.
Illumination for the National Optical & Scientific Instruments DC3-163 Digital Microscope is provided by a 12V, 20 watt halogen, rheostat controlled, light. The rack and pinion controlled 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser features an iris diaphragm, and a swing-out filter holder with clear, blue, green, and yellow filters. Focusing for the microscope is both coaxial and fine.
