The Newport Model 36 Tilt and Rotation Platform provides tilt and rotation adjustments for aligning optical components. It is kinematic, with hardened and polished steel ball pivots and spring-preloaded spherical-tipped adjustments acting on hardened steel seats.
This stage has an elevation tilt adjustment and a rotation adjustment using SM-13 Micrometers that rotates the mounting platform about the kinematic pivot point making it ideal for use as a pointer.
With components mounted on the same face as the micrometers, the rotation provides an azimuth adjustment; components mounted on the opposite side are rotated in-plane.
