The Microm HM 500-OM Cryostat is an upright standing open top microtome for a cutting temperature range down to -40°C. The rustproof microtome has a section thickness range from 0.5um to 90um and retracts the specimen at the end of the cut for both the protection of the knife and specimen, while the motorized coarse feed system allows the specimen to move both forward and backward. Two independent cooling systems control the temperature of both the working area of the microtome and knife carrier as well as the specimen itself.
