PerkinElmer DBS Puncher Instrument, P/N 1296-071

The PerkinElmer DBS Puncher Instrument, P/N 1296-071, automatically punches dry blood spot samples into microtitration plates. The world’s first “intelligent punch”, it is ideal for all kinds of blood spot assay, and is especially useful as a front end to feed a plate-based automatic immunoassay system.

The PerkinElmer DBS Puncher Instrument, P/N 1296-071, is a standalone unit that can be configured with a barcode reader for identification of the sample. For process and datamanagement, it may be connected to an external computer. This facilitates the transfer of work lists over a serial port from the puncher to the PC.

Two plates may be loaded to allow simultaneous processing of different assays. The plate height allowed is adjustable, so deep well plates can be
accommodated. After punching, disk detection ensures that the disk is correctly placed in the microtitration well.

There are four selection buttons for instrument control, and the instrument is operated by hand or by foot-switch (not included). Ease of use is enhanced by a clear double line display, and by illumination of the area being punched.
