The Stratagene 2040EV Transilluminator CAT# 401150 can be used for viewing and photographing agarose or polyacrylamide gels (up to 20 x 40cm) used to separate DNA or RNA fragments. These fragments can be stained using either ethidium bromide or acridine orange. Both stains produce visible fluorescence when exposed to Ultraviolet light.
